Former Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Daily Observer, Ousman Rambo Jatta, has raised serious concerns over the closure of the pro-Jammeh newspaper by officials of the Gambia Revenue Authority who revealed that the company has tax arrears of over 17 million Dalasis.
Rambo took over the company’s leadership from Momodou Sabally in August 2016 and served for four months.
He said the GRA and the Daily Observer had an agreement payment plan whereby a certain amount was paid at the end of every month which never faulted during his short stay as the company’s manager.
He added that the procedure was ongoing even after his departure.
“So please GRA, come out and explain to the Gambian people why and who pressed the button to shut down the Daily Observer Company,” he noted.
Rambo is a committed APRC official and has tremendously contributed in the party’s progress.
